Company timeline
With years of hands-on experience and a dedicated team, we have built in-depth knowledge of the specific requirements for floating solar systems in both calm and challenging environments. Our proven track record shows that we consistently deliver reliable solutions in system design, construction, durability, and ongoing support.

2018
Profloating was born from a clear vision for a fast-growing market. With years of experience in the solar industry, our founder saw an opportunity to improve floating solar solutions. After working on several small projects, we realized there was a better way to design and build these systems.
Together with a small team of like-minded professionals, we founded Profloating, laying the foundation for what the company is today.

2019
Our first projects began to take shape, including the innovative Melkfles (“Milkbottle”) project in the Rotterdam harbor. Exposed to constant boat traffic and wave action, this floating solar park challenged us to further refine our designs, improving both stability and resilience.

2020
This year, we introduced Proflex, our advanced mooring solution developed in partnership with Seaflex. By applying an internal anchoring system, Proflex distributes natural forces more evenly across the structure. Proflex combines innovation and reliability, reducing system stress while increasing stability, ensuring maximum performance for every floating solar project.

2021
With growing demand, we introduced FLOTAR® 3.0 and the Connect, specifically engineered to increase total panel capacity (Wp). By continuously incorporating client feedback, we optimized the system for greater efficiency and seamless scalability.

2022
This year marked a breakthrough for Profloating as we delivered larger and more complex projects. Among them were Project K3 Delta in the Netherlands and Project Burgata in Israel. Each project presented unique challenges that provided valuable insights, enabling us to further refine and optimize our solutions.

2023
Backed by our R&D expertise, we introduced FLOTAR® 4.0, offering higher panel capacity, greater stability, and improved efficiency. This innovation reinforces our commitment to staying ahead of market demands and advancing the floating solar industry.

2024
Our expansion into the United States marked a transformative year, with pilot projects, new partnerships, and the first deployments of FLOTAR® technology across the US and beyond.

2025
A landmark year as we launched the FLOTAR® MAX series, designed to support 700+ Wp panels, the largest available on the market. Meeting global demand from Europe to the Americas, this innovation sets a new benchmark in floating solar.
The year also marked our first project in Africa with Project Tanger, showcasing the continent’s vast potential.
Looking ahead, continued product innovation and worldwide expansion will drive further growth.
“As your potential partner we are confident in offering you the most reliable, optimal and cost-effective system”
– Wim Nowé, Managing Director
We walk the talk
From the beginning of solar on water, we have been active in the market. We are proud to say that we have learned a lot. Among other things, we have learned that engineering is just as important as a quality system. Quality design ensures clarity on site during construction. This saves time and thus money, at the same time it ensures an even more reliable system.
Profloating therefore pays extra attention to this process, from data collection to calculations. In the end, we deliver a detailed FLOTAR® and anchor design.
